The M-Vac™ was a big part of a May 2022 cold cases story run on Orange County, Florida, TV station Fox 35-Orlando. The news team talks with investigators from Orlando's Cold Case unit, who are going back to old cases, many of which have bodies that are not even identified. They are using newer DNA techniques to try to first find the identities of these victims, then learn other information. On the case highlighted in the news story, there was a jacket found tied on a woman's body and the M-Vac™ was used to get DNA off of it. Any foreign DNA found on the jacket will give some history of what happened to the unidentified victim. DNA information collected is also being run through genealogical databases to help solve the mystery. Watch the news clip below for more details.
